All together
30.08.2007 Anton VolkovNow we have all the techs in one engine. Now we also can add bump-mapping and unique lighting FX (say, some green light on a wall near the grass). The engine has some optimization potential, but speed is mainly based on a texture quality settings.
It is supposed that all the objects will be in a 1 pixel = 1 centimeter scale.
Keys:
- Spacebar — change daytime
- Mouse wheel — change scale
- Shift + wheel — tex quality
- Ctrl + wheel — lightmap quality
- Alt + wheel — groung quality
- Q — tex interpolation on/off

Texture objects in action

27.08.2007 Anton BraginPlayers will be able to communicate not only by chat, but via mobile devices too (mobile phones, walkie-talkies, or pager).
Here is the demo. As you can see, it has all the basic functions of an cheap average phone (including signal level). You can activate the phone and then say something using chat panel. Yes, we can make real rich-boy phone with camera, streaming audio, and melodies, but we don’t need it right now.
Texturing objects and lighting
24.08.2007 Anton VolkovFunally, I managed to got textures and lighting together. Spotlights are not made yet, but it’s worth watching already. This day’s know-how is an automatic “global-lighting-like” shadows at the corners, which adds some realism for sure.
Keys:
- Space — toggle daytime
- Click on a model — create or move texture object
- Ctrl + click on a model — forced creation of the texture object
- Q — texture interpolation on/off

23.08.2007 Anton VolkovOur game has no “included” textures or models. Thanks to our dinamic UV-mapping system and built-in 3D-editor, designers have full freedom to create an environment. Also, any texture and model can be changed depending on some events (hole in a ground after an explosion, blood on a wall, grafitti and so on).
Texture quality is easy to ajust, to play game on a slower mashines.
Keys:
- Click on the model — creates or moves tex object
- Ctrl + click on a model — forced tex obj creation
- Mouse wheel — change texture quality
- Q — tex interpolation on/off
