Alternativa3D goes public!

23.04.2008 Alexander Karpovich

We’re glad to announce that we’re already working hard to make Alternativa3D availiable ’till the end of May. We’re planning to open SWC-library for non-commercial use, and also preparing licenses for commercial use in any projects. We’re also creating developers portal, useful support system and on-line documentation.

Thank you everybody! Your feedback gives us energy to move forward.

Excellent news!! The work you guys are doing is incredible. I went over to a friends house last night and we played Golden Eye for the SNES. I remember thinking how gorgeous that game was when I first played it, but found myself thinking, “Flash could make this game way better using the Alternativa platform.” Great work guys!

Is simply the best engineering I’ve seen I can not wait to try it as a suggestion to develop the maps can work with the “hammer valve” (half life) as exports to Map and I think it also compiles BSP if they do not remember evil, so that others simply incredible

  22. Piergiorgio Niero Says:

    Wonderful news!:)
Are you planning to publish 3d engine only or server side code too? (it will be something like papervision or paperworld?)

  23. Mal Says:

Re licensing - If I developed a game as a hobby, but then it starts generating revenue, at what point will I need a commercial license?

You probably don’t have an answer right now, but worth thinking about ;-)

Alternatva3D seems better then papervision3D, If only fp10 supports true perspective 3D.
